Re: A vaccine to save livesFrom: Kim Elise Goldman (goldman@calweb.com)Tue Feb 6 12:36:49 2007
Jamie, Again we are on the same page. I DO get that nothing is 100% protective. I DO get that I can't mandate my daughter's behavior (or that of a rapist). But what I DON'T get is how the government thinks it is ok to MANDATE that my DAUGHTER receive a vaccine with VERY LITTLE LONG TERM evidence that it is safe, effective AND does no harm. To those who are jumping on this bandwagon......does the word thalidomide mean anything to you other than adjuvant therapy for people with aids? Anyone remember the reason that we suddenly had to revaccinate everyone who got early MMR vaccines? I prefer to make my healthcare decisions myself and to make my minor children's healthcare decisions (including them in the process where appropriate) and not have them made by a governor who is buddies with a drug company that stands to make a fortune on the vaccine. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
