Don't sleep.

On a more serious note:

1. You are not as good, nor as bad as some people might lead you to believe. 2. Treat everyone well and with respect, nurses, lab techs, students. They can always hurt you more than you can hurt them. Plus, you can frequently gain an education from unlikely sources. 3. Don't just be a technician. Learn the art of medicine. Pick up how to interact with patients from others around you, again not just attendings. Emulate things that you admire. 4. Strive for balance. Don't let your entire persona turn into being a doctor. Maintain, protect and develop outside interests, passions, relationships. They'll keep you sane, and make you a better physician.

Good luck.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
