This reminds me of the finding that the fetal heart slows down during uterine contractions, which became apparent for the first time when EFM became available. Up went the c-section rate with no corresponding improvement in neonatal mortality.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
