Re: Difficult twins OutcomeFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Sun Dec 31 13:34:13 2006
I was in the OR for the procedure. Epidural was in place. Anesthesia present. The only thing mission was the Section table was not set up. With the uncertainty of heart tones I decided the safest and most efficient mode of delivery would be internal podalic version with double footling breech extraction. Apgars 4,8 and base excess <4. 10 minutes elapse from baby 1 and baby 2. Unfortunately this is part of the dying art of obstetrics. I am doubtful that the majority of recent OB grads in the past 10 years would have chosen this option. Thanks for your input.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
