I would like to know the following information regarding dressings for a C/S patient, please and thank you.

1- Who removes the first dressing? MD or RN

[Ron] I remove it

2- What post op day do you generally remove the dressing?

[Ron] 1st postop day

3- Do you usually use telfa and an ABD or something else?

[Ron] I use opsite on it when I close in the OR, and leave it completely open after I remove it, unless there is some oozing.

Denise, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
