What I wear to work

I work for a hospital.

In our clinic we work only with undocumented women on Federal Emergency Services Medicaid.

The hospital sets our dress code.

No open toed shoes.

Hose must be worn.

No jeans (even if they are not blue).

They prefer I wear a white jacket so that the patients will understand that I am trained, and identify me as their Doctora (as opposed to a backwoods midwife or traditional birth attendant). I do introduce myself as an Enfermera Partera, but I don't think most of them understand what that is. They do seem to understand the white jacket though..............

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
