Re: ACOG StatementFrom: Stmidwife@aol.comMon Nov 20 16:33:55 2006
My birth center is one block from two different hospitals. One to each side. As for emergencies, I carry pitocin, methergine, IV's, oxygen, bag and mask for newborn and adult, neonatal resuscitation and American Heart certified. If I am having a shoulder dystocia, I do the same thing you do, and change maternal positions.(ie Gaskin Manuever). What country are you in? Sue In a message dated 11/20/2006 2:41:16 P.M. The place close to a Urgency Center, cultural factors, medical personal resources, etc. I consider in my country it is not possible. I am thinking and thinking in a complications: hemorrage, hypovolemy, shoulder distocya, etc. Opinios about the last? It is possible that many of us was borned at home, but many, many (babies and mothers) died too.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
