Re: Question about placenta accretaFrom: RModugno@aol.comSun Oct 29 13:00:41 2006
In a message dated 10/29/2006 2:30:03 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, GIN11153@aol.com writes: My concern with this case was that the consent hadn't mentioned possible hysterectomy so patient had to resign on the table while bleeding heavily (anesthesiologist said it was OK because she had no narcotics on board-just the spinal) Interesting - our consent form says something to the effect that we can't predict the future, and that additional procedures may become necessary which may involve the loss of function of, or loss of organs.. I believe that in an emergency situation - one could waive the signing of the consent. As Art says - my opinion, I could be wrong. Robert Modugno MD MBA FACOG Sylva, NC

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
