I would have to disagree with you. A class does not make someone proficient. It is the day to day exercise that allows someone to be comfortable and able to recognize the subtle changes in a mother and the fetus. If I was in the ICU I would not want to be taken care of by an L/D nurse who had a class last year about invasive monitoring.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
