Re: Cervical ripening agentsFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Mon Oct 23 07:47:42 2006
Yes they are placed on the antepartum floor. Patients are transfereed to Land D the next monring for Pitoini or cytotec and AROM. Why would anyone want to tie up a L&D room on somone with cervical ripening provided they could be monitored safely on the floor if they are using cervidil. How many of us would be unsing cervidil at $700 cost to insurance if the cost came out of our own reimbusement???? I suspect we would either be doing less indcutions or using the foley catheter method for ripening. andrew

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
