Listers,

A 14+ yo patient presents with hx of laparoscopic right salpingo-oophorectomy age 12 1/2 secondary to torsion of large ovarian cyst. Path confirmed benign hemorrgagic cyst. Absence of uterine tissue was noted at laparoscopy and external exam confirmed vaginal agenesis. Patient and family are interested in centers familiar with non-surgical and surgical correction procedures. They are willing to travel from NC location for benefit of programs with well developed patient counseling and support resources. Please reply off line if any recommendations are forthcoming. Of interest, patient is coitally inactive. However patient feels different from peers, and wishes to initiate exploration of her options. Sensitivity to her concerns is appreciated.

Thanks,

Hank

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
