Thanks to Dan, Ef, Barbara and Arthur. You have said much of what I amthinking - more eloquently than I. As per Jamie: I would prefer that no one ever have to face this decision. I would prefer that there never be a need for abortion. We have to do better at getting all to have responsible behavior withregards to sexuality. We can continue working on that for a long time to come. Even if we were to 100% legislate against it and to only provide "thou shall not" counseling in the office: there would still be abortions. In the interest of the best health for all our patients I firmly believe we have to provide full counseling on both sides and there has to be safe termination options - as there will be abortions whether we are pro or anti choice. We as gynecologists will have to clean up the mess that ensues if it is outlawed. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
