.. Judge Halts Defendants' Bid to Avoid $116M Med-Mal Verdict Daily Business Review After being hit with a $116.7 million malpractice verdict -- possibly the largest in Florida history -- in favor of a man who was rendered quadriplegic after his stroke was misdiagnosed as sinusitis, two medical practices filed for bankruptcy before the jury had completed its deliberations. But U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Paul Glenn took the unusual action of setting aside the defendants' petitions so the circuit court jury could finish its work. The jurors returned a $100.1 million punitive damages verdict. http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1160039129442

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
