Proposed Solution to Crisis: 30,000 obgyns paying 60,000 per year (conservative estimate) in malpractice per doctor. Total National monitary pool = $1,800,000,000 1.8 billion dollars???? (somebody check the math) I speculate that we could pay every "bad outcome" that comes along in OB or gyn including medical bill lost earnings etc and never accuse any OB gyn of malpractice and still have money left over. The downside of course is that the lawyers on both sides would have to find real jobs somehwere else. Just my thought. andrew

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
