Ron:

Both hospitals at which I operate have standard guidelines per the anesthesiologists, and they are minimal for healthy patients undergoing minor procedures. I am pretty sure that they have evidence or opinions from their society as to what to do.

I am pretty sure that PTT/PT is not necessary or effective; T and S for minors doesn't sound needed, either, and T and C is rarely done these days for gyn stuff or C/Sections, I think.

The anesthesiologists like pregnancy tests on pretty much everyone!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
