I concur with all of our previously responding experts. Except that some of them missed that she had already been on heparin for 36 hours. The vast majority will defervesce in 48 hours or less. If they don't, they either have a diferent diagnosis or such a large lesion that they will show up on CT scan and probably require surgery.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
