Re: interesting caseFrom: art fougner, md (evsono@pipeline.com)Thu Aug 10 07:25:55 2006
With an HCG level of >30,000 ( confirmed), i would expect to see a fetal heartbeat. From the data presented, this patient has gestational trophoblastic disease until proven otherwise. Would repeat the ultrasound as well and if inconclusive, curettage and if HCG essentially unchanged, then as Joe P suggested along with Chest film, with intention to treat with Chemotherapy as per your local regimen. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. Art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
