I'm with you Glen. I asses the pelvis and make a mental note to myself if there's any question about adequacy. I generally never told a pt that I didn't think she could deliver vaginally because I always felt that it could increase her level of fear regarding labor, and destroy any motivation she might have to cope with labor, things I have always felt had a significant impact on how things went. In addition, I have seen (as have all of you, I'm sure) women who had been told they could not deliver vaginally who have gone on to spit one out precipitously. Ina May has seen many women who came to the Farm after being told they would need a c-section and went on to deliver vaginally.

I think pelvimetry was much more useful "back in the day" of tubercular and rachetic pelves.

Solamente mis dos centavos (dang, can't find that accent thingy).

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
