If you leave them in for longer, they give the same railroad track appearance that external stitches do. The only ugly scars and dotted lines I've seen have been when I've had partners that liked to leave staples in for 5-7 days. If you get them out by day 3 you really can't tell a difference and they haven't gotten imbedded either so they aren't hard to remove. But, I still like suturing. D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
