One of the docs I assist with tags and then uses it to tie his knot when he comes back with his second layer. He uses the same suture forward and back. He has the shortest piece left when he is done with his second layer. I have always thought he would probably be good at petit point. (Needlepoint technique.)

Along this same line, one of the other docs, uses the cautery for everything that sheds a drop of blood. It isn't a gentle tap either. He burns until it is black. Good G-d, it looks like a barbecue when he is done. I know I'm going to get some kind of cancer related to the fumes. Using the suction barely touches the smoke coming off the field.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
