Just over 30 percent of pregnant women in South Africa are infected with the AIDS virus, according to a government report released Friday which estimated that 5.5 million South Africans are living with HIV. The survey, conducted in October 2005 and released Friday by the Department of Health, said the figures showed little increase over 2004. It said this was a sign that the level of new infections was leveling out. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
