The experts are mixed on cosleeping over here. Some advise against it citing overlaying deaths, but that data may include cosleeping with other children, with intoxicated or medicated parents. Others advocate cosleeping safety such as avoiding pillows and heavy blankets, no meds or drinking, avoiding it if one parent is extremely obese. I do cosleep for a few weeks/months and don't know mayny people who don't, tbh. I think more families cosleep than admit it, and education about how to do so safely might be more effective than just banning it. Falling asleep in the chair while trying to nurse a baby who hasn't slept 2 consecutive hours in 3 weeks is a convincing argument for many.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
