Wow, 2 hours. Just as well she had someone confident with her. The longest I had was 70 mins, she had her baby in the car park (!). Got her to the ward, had no notes to refer to, baby shoved up her jumper for skin to skin. On the ward, cord no loner pulsating so it was clamped and cut and we waited for the placenta, and we waited and we waited...Her notes turned up and when I read them I swallowed hard, she was 35+2 days and was a previous section and rhesus negative. I'd only been qualified for 6 months so was sh**ing myself. However, all was well and the babe certainly benefited from not being separated from his placenta and having skin to skin. Me? I was traumatised, lol!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
