It depends on whether you use an oxytocic after the birth of the baby or not. If you give an oxytocic then the placenta is usually delivered by 10 mins although I have seen them take longer.

How long would you wait until a woman was considered to have a retained placenta and subsequently taken to theatre for a MROP?
