When I was being prepped for the Boards by the late Irwin Kaiser, he
remarked that the Board was looking for folks who could be called on to
bail out a gp in the middle of the night. At the end of the day, this
drive for primary care turf has resulted in the overall dumbing down of
the Specialty. Soon the GP's will have to bail us out. We have met the
enemy and they is us.
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
