Despite the problems that exist in OB, it is rewarding even though many in society do not value it. Certainly true for the carriers! But the younger generation is not going to work 50-60-70hrs a week and be on call for their patients. A 40hr week working as employee is oftern desired. That is also what is occurring with MFM trainees .. this ishearsay from several who have programs which Baylor no longer has. Across the board access will change and the ERs which already are seeing brunt of uninsured and significant disease will only be more back logged. It is time for the nation to contemplate a better way. The problem is that the implementation of such a system willl be opposed by many factions. Certainly not by me. One of the major components will have to be a means to get people to be proactive to prevent disease - especially obesity & its sequelae. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
