Re: Last oneFrom: Meenan, Anna (annam@uic.edu)Wed Jun 14 00:49:38 2006
Reasons too numerous to explain. Many things all came together in my life last summer at the same time. Family issues, health issues, career issues, employer issues, issues with the state of medicine in general, and my own anxieties and insecurities, which started building after my (fortunately) brief encounter with the malpractice system and never stopped. The specific reason for stopping at this specific time is that the U counts their players on the OB schedule once a year and calculates the malpractice insurance payment based on who's doing it at the time. June 30 is the date they pick. My coverage for doing OB stops then, and I don't do it enough anymore to justify them continuing to cover me. Just as well. It's time. Anna Meenan, MD

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
