Re: Yahoo! News Story - Group calls for universal health coverageFrom: Kim Elise Goldman (goldman@calweb.com)Thu Jun 8 10:32:23 2006
Well as someone who is a participating provider in government sponsored health care (Medicaid and the Medicaid subcontractors) I will tell you that the bureaucracy there is even worse and the most important medical decisions are often made by people ill qualified to do so...sometimes a clerk with a high school education. And then there is the VA system. Someone once calculated that you could provide traditional 80/20 indemnity insurance for all Vets and their families for less cost than the VA system...of course it would put a lot of people out of work if you did that. The answer is not the government. Sadly, I don't have a good suggestion for what the answer is....unless we go back to good old fashioned cash and barter :) Kim On Jun 8, 2006, at 11:21 AM, Jamie wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
