Re: Consent for Vag deliveryFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Tue Jun 6 15:56:44 2006
However, for what it's worth, if the vaginal delivery consent doesn't contain episiotomy, forceps, etc., then you might have to get informed consent in the heat of the moment, when it is hard to do properly. Obviously, there has to be some pre-event discussion of the L and D doings, and this is best done in the office. Furthermore, FWIW, it seems like a blanket form acknowledging that discussion is proper. Some patients will want to discuss things line by line; others won't. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
