I don't think the posting of photos, or the placement of birth information in the newspaper is as much of a concern from a HIPPA standpoint, as from a standpoint of safety from abduction and personal privacy. Our hospital stopped providing birth information to the local paper over ten years ago, long before HIPPA. Parents can voluntarily provide the information, just as they do engagement and marriage information.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
