I would also speculate that increasing expenses, declining revenues and increasing hotel rates and even more absurdly increasing local hotel taxes, etc. are enhancing the attraction of internet, DVD, correspondence and local/regional CME activities. Sad, since nothing IMHO replicates the energy and synergy of events such as the annual clinical meeting.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
