The PCP sent the culture and put her on the PCN because the patient was complianing of irritation. The PCP did a urine culture that was negative. I am planning on having her come in - for a cath spec for UA and exam and recommendations. She could also have radiation cystitis as well. I have been trying to convince her she really needs the vaginal estrogen (as did a gyn onc doc when consulted for related reasons about 3 years ago). I didn't think there was any other new wonderful treatment I missed for the vaginal problems after radiation. I have never used IM androgen. (except decades ago when I came to town and it was occasionally given post partum) so what is the dose and the frequency? Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
