We do the CLIA form to check off the nurses and it is kept on file in the lab. ________________________________ From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn=2Enet [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn=2Enet] On Behalf Of=0D=0Armodugno@= the lab. ________________________________ From: ob-aol.com Sent: Monday, March 13, 2006 4:16 PM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Re: AmniSure ROM Test The price is negotiable and may be charged for in a 'labor evaluation" fee . Personally, I would still prefer to do a fern myself ? it takes very little time and I trust what I am seeing. The nurses used to be able to do it for us at night, but with CLIA regulations, they aren?t authorized to use a microscope, the lab technicians have to read the test and it takes a lot longer to get the results, costs patients more than it?s worth and I don?t trust the techs as much as I trust myself or the nursing staff who had been doing it for many years. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
