Re: ActinomycesFrom: Rafael Haciski (haciski@earthlink.net)Fri Mar 10 11:12:55 2006
Thanks for the responses. I too am tempted to leave it alone, although will discuss with patient and offer her the choice (CYA). The thing that puzzles me is that if this is part of normal flora, why do they nor report it more often (I can not remember the last time I had a PAP come back with Actinomyces)? And if this is indeed normal flora, and therefore not reported, why did they report it now (we did not mark on the PAP form that she had an IUD)?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
