Re: Weekend thoughtsFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Sun Mar 5 10:07:14 2006
I am a little behind Ef but also am on a first name basis with many, many patients--both ways--of various ages. I always introduce myself by first and last name, and most people say "Dr. Siegel" although I don't take offense at "Garry." I sometimes am surprised when called by my first name by folks younger than me who are new patients (the old ones are a different story), but I think it must go both ways, as I use first names on those around my age and younger. For older women, especially new patients, I am more formal--even being told by many to use their first names! Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
