I remember reading a review just last year in the the literature that made it seem not like a big deal. Sorry I am not at my computer to do a medline. Conceptually and practically aplying fundal pressure to stabilize or guide the the head durring an ARM or scalp electrode is not very helpfull, why not apply pressure on the head, the head is not at the fudus.

When I was a medical student the most senoir consultant applied repetitive fundal pressure for a 31 wk deliever in a case of fetal distress, he let me do the easy part deliever the baby. He retired a few years ago and I don't think I will be seeing any more fundal pressure delieveries.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
