Re: UK Pap rules was Sexual abuse was Spanking babiesFrom: GA12L@aol.comMon Feb 27 16:30:13 2006
In a message dated 27/02/2006 22:55:55 GMT Standard Time, eramirezt@coqui.net writes: I have seen teenagers with asymptomatic HSV and many other conditionsâunaware of their existence â I canât comprehend why Gail would argue in favor of not doing preventive medicine â finding out whatâs not normal⦠On the contrary, Ef prevention is better than the cure. In my defence, I am not gynae trained so I don't know the things you all...sorry, y'all do. To be honest these things never occurred to me which is why I was asking. Also, women are not routinely examined here so this was different to how it is here. Now it's been explained I can see it's value. I also came to learn and boy do I learn, the hard way admittedly but I learn. I have been on such a steep learning curve that I have almost vanished up my own backside (yeah, you lot wish). Also a lot of nuance gets lost in an email and I really don't mean to come across as some hippy-sandal wearing midwife who thinks women can give birth in a bush by themselves. No I'm not, I hate sandals... Gail

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
