Anna, what I am talking about - and what I interacted with in Michigan and here in NH are women who have done a bit of book work - and then watched 25 deliveries and then were observed doing about 25 more.

The REAL s**t in OB doesn't hit the fan often enough that that qualifies one to be able to identify when the s**t and decided who / how / when to call for help in my book.

It may not need 5-8 yars of training - but it sure needs more than what these folks think is adequate.

The 24 hour second stage / head near perineum for hours and hours and where the baby dies after they bring her in to deliver at the hospital and the vagina looks like ground meat was horrible to witness.

The baby she said had an FHR 30 all through labor -- but was born "not breathing" and was obviously an IUFD for some time- macerated and very very mec stained ...

Fire away!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
