This is not correct. The prescriptive authority of CNMs in the US depends on their location,and is legal in many states.

In Connecticut we have state and federal controlled substance/DEA licenses and may prescribe from Schedules II and V, just like the MDs.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
