Re: Not really Kick CountsFrom: rmodugno@aol.comSat Dec 31 10:24:10 2005
Correct eL, I left. After taking care of patients on floors , under beds and on beds.Suturing scalp wounds while carrying a firearm, because the perpertrators could return ( and they often did!), to finish off the job - Watching young girls die of septic abortions due to lysol injections into their uteri, being fearful of inviting my African colleagues - residents and attendings - to my house for social gatherings - because I might be reported to the police. My African colleagues being fearful of leaving their houses, because on their return, they might find their houses ransacked - And there wasn't a damned thing I could do about it. My children had these things to look forward to: houses with burglar bars, electrified fences, being scared to stop at red lights, because of carjackings, being robbed and killed in their driveways - and there wasn't a damned thing I could do about it! And to top it all this in the future of the country: http://laurianclem.blogspot.com/2004/12/smell-of-formaldehyde-in-soweto.html So, in my mind, I felt there was actually something I could do about it. Call me stupid, call me clueless, it's OK - Happy New Year! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
