Actually, I did that. I was offered any number of free trials for porn sites, a couple of “personal” stories that were lacking in any detail, and the chance to pay anywhere from $20-$100 for videotapes that purported to show me how to become a piercer myself, a honor I dream not of. I thought Google could tell me anything (having seen detailed step-by-step descriptions of how to do bowel resections), but apparently piercing is a cash only zone.

You probably learn more than you'd ever want to know about body piercing by going to http://www.google.com.

Subject: Piercing

This may be a bit out-of-bounds for this forum, but does anyone out there have any personal experience with performing body piercing, particularly of the female nipple, labia, and clitoral hood? I know that you are all seeing a dramatic increase in this sort of thing, just as I am, but a bit of a new twist for me has been a upsurge in questions about the process from the as-yet unpierced, with 3 such inquiries in the past week. The basic process would appear to be self-evident, but if anyone has the interest and expertise in the specifics, and are willing to educate me, I would be grateful. For example, is a local anesthetic used? Feel free to respond by private email if you wish, but I hope we can get a thread out of it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
