Never done one in that circumstance Ronald E. Ainsworth, MD, FACOG -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of Garry E. Siegel, M.D. Sent: Monday, December 05, 2005 7:47 PM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: OB: Ectopics When faced with a "slam-dunk" unruptured, stable ectopic, say in your office, and when you're considering methotrexate, what do listers do about curettage? In this very hypothetical situation, let's make the HCG 3000, the ultrasound totally normal with a thin, well seen endometrial stripe, and the exam normal, too. Many would simply give methotrexate here; I've seen that the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy is wrong here up to 40%. If you do a curettage, can you do it in the office? What type of equipment is used, and what anesthesia, if any? Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
