Re: HomebirthsFrom: lfolgar (lfolgar@vianwe.com)Wed Nov 30 02:01:49 2005
Spanish law regulations are simply. Patient is free to make any decision he/she consider apropiate. Medical center is avaible to force him/her to leave the hospital if the decisions is out of "lex artis". Pregancy is more complicate because the fetus have his own rights. In this case the doctors could aks for a decision to the judge who listen both parts before he/she make a decision. In some hospitals the "rules" for allowing sterilization procedures was something like 4 kids or more and 40 years old ... and various other rules. It was really left to each community or hospital to regulate this. I am certain that Britain -- or any other country has laws - or local regulations - that would make others of us say "WHAT?!?!?" as well. Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
