C/S complicationsFrom: Henry Gregor (henrygregor@yahoo.com)Mon Nov 28 21:05:17 2005

What complications from which c-sections? C/S's done without labor have a very respectable, oft times quoted as superior, complications profile to c/s's done after sometime of labor, and/or, of course, compare very favorably for svd's as well. If I'm very wrong some education, sans flaming, would be appreciated. I suspect there's much validation of what I have written. FWIW, re elective c/s, we live in a society that allows folks to pursue potentially dangerous plastic surgery, to often (I'm not saying always here, folks) pursue bariatric surgery rather than first making genuine non-surgical weight correction efforts, to abort pregnancies, to pierce various body parts, to have living donor kidney donations, etc., etc. It seems to me patient autonomy should prevail here as well. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
