Re: C/sections on demandFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Mon Nov 28 08:23:44 2005
Until 3 years ago almost all OB-Gyns would say no it is inappropriate and they would most likely be reprimanded by the Quality Committee at their hospital for doing an elective section without reason. Lately, however, th trend is toward in the States is toward delivering all babies by Cesarean Section . We are not ther yet but we are at about 30% and rising and there is really no end in site. We are not far from the day when primips will simply schedule their c-section for the convenience of all concerned. And I am tthinking like in the next 3-5 years we will be seeing this. Andrew

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
