Re: I have an idea...From: GA12L@aol.comSun Nov 27 08:12:31 2005

We have a duty to care so yes, we are duty bound to attend any situation. Even though we don't have the right to say no we must know and accept our limitations so if a woman wanted a breech birth at home then a midwife could refuse on the grounds that she was not skilled in breech births. That's our only get out clause except in an emergency when we have a duty to care. I'm not saying it's right. It just amazes me that women are not permitted to make a decison and then be able to stand by it and be responsible for it. Or for someone else to cop the flack should it go wrong. It seems everyone gets a raw deal. How can a woman making a decison become the fault of someone else if it goes belly up? I thought MI5 and MI6 were motorways! Or freeways as I think you call them? For anyone not familiar with out roads all motorways are numbered, M1 goes to London M4 goes to Wales, etc., etc. Gail

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
