I believe that the study showing that was a little underpowered to prove NO benefit. I would have to go look it up to see for sure. If I remember correctly when this all first came out, someone calculated that a study would have to have several thousand patients in each arm to show a 50% reduction in the incidence of meconium aspiration syndrome. Since it is easier to show a positive effect, it would seem likely that at least that many would be needed to show an absence of effect. Dan

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
