Re: HomebirthsFrom: William D. McIntosh, M.D (wmcintosh@premiermed.com)Tue Nov 22 09:50:19 2005
The thing to remember is that these rules referenced for sterilization have not been true for many years, even here in the States, with a few possible exceptions such as Louisiana. I have been in medicine for over 20 years as student, resident, and attending, and none of these rules have applied anywhere I have been in all that time. I submit that if you ask the oldest medical practitioners you know in the UK about their experiences at the beginnings of their careers, you might be astonished at what was once the standard of care that you would find appalling now. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
