I actually know of two women in the past month who have had twins VBACs- I believe both were primary VBACs. I believe that with twin VBAC, there is the risk of VBAC, and the risk of twins, but just because you have both factors in a pregnancy/delivery does not increase risk exponentially. I will see if I can find the data on that. Also, my understanding is that it is the primary VBAC which has the highest rupture rate- after one VBAC, the rate of UR for subsequent pregnancies and labors is drastically lower. I guess the scar has "proven" itself. Therefore, she would already be lower risk than if she were a primary VBAC. Chris A., NP Boston

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
