Re: Gyn: elongated cervixFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Sat Nov 5 17:02:28 2005
Garry I have been trying to be proactive in the OR in terms of preventing vault prolapse 10 years down the road in someone young like your patient. Here are some thoughts to consider. Tie the uterosacrals into the cuff, use polypropylene mesh on the posterior repair with permanent sutrues to secure the graft laterally and consider something similar for the anterior repair. TVOT is becoming popular in gynecolgy as it is safer and does not require cystoscopy. Watch the urologist do one and you are ready. Andy Toledo

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
